Terms of Use
Last updated 2 September 2026
By using Moody SA you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.
Your account
You need an account to post a mood, send a hug or echo a feeling. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, use a display name that isn't impersonating someone, and don't create accounts to get around a suspension.
What you post
You own what you write. By posting it you give us permission to display it publicly on the map, in the feed, in shareable summaries and in aggregated AI vibe reports. You confirm you have the right to post it.
What isn't allowed
- Hate speech, incitement, harassment or threats.
- Other people's personal information, or impersonating anyone.
- Spam, advertising, links, code or automated posting.
- Anything illegal in South Africa.
Full detail lives in our Community Guidelines.
Moderation
Anyone can report a pin. Moderators may hide or delete content and suspend accounts from posting, with or without notice, when these terms are broken. There is a short cooldown between pins so no single person can flood a town.
Not a crisis service
Moody SA is not a mental health service and nobody here is monitoring for emergencies. If you're in crisis, please contact SADAG on 0800 567 567 or emergency services on 112.
Availability and liability
The service is provided "as is". We can't guarantee it will always be available, accurate or uninterrupted, and to the extent the law allows we're not liable for any loss arising from your use of it or from content other users post.
Changes and closing your account
We may update these terms; continuing to use the app means you accept the update. You can stop using Moody SA at any time and ask us to delete your account and pins.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Copyright and takedowns
The Moody SA name, design, maps and code belong to us. The words in a pin belong to the person who wrote them, and by posting they give us permission to display that pin on the map, in the live feed and in aggregated insights.
If content on Moody SA infringes your copyright, defames you, or was posted about you without consent, send us a takedown request through the message box in your profile drawer. Tell us where the content is, what the problem is and how we can reach you. We aim to review every request within 48 hours and will remove content that breaks the law or our Community Guidelines.
Moody SA is not a healthcare service and does not provide counselling or emergency response. In a crisis, phone SADAG on 0800 567 567, or 112 from any cellphone.
